Blue Shield of California: In-store convenience - In-person assistance

Opening November 2011 - The Blue Shield Store, where members can come for face-to-face service and support. The new San Francisco-based Blue Shield Store is a pilot program aimed at providing members a personal approach to their health plan. Members can come in and talk with a Blue Shield associate when they need answers about their coverage.

Effective Tuesday - 11/1/11, Blue Shield of California’s Pilot Store Location and Hours of Operation, are as follows:

1750 Fulton Street - inside the Lucky Supermarket (see above-referenced attachment)

San Francisco, CA 94117

Hours:

Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Here are some of the services offered:

* Learn about online self-service member tools and resources.
* Get help finding a network provider
* Check the status of a claim
* Get a replacement ID card
* Get help finding an agent
* Receive promotions and discounts
* Check out our monthly health and wellness topics

In addition, visitors can get their healthy profile from a Summit Health nurse, who will administer and give confidential results for testing of blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose, along with written wellness assessments.
